The existing water-repellent coatings for glass obtain their coating effects through fluorine binding with OH radicals (a common functional group in glass). However, OH radicals on the glass surface are not abundant limiting the capacity for binding with fluorine. The Accelerator’s unique materials increase the bonding force to the glass and the number of functional groups at the glass surface. In addition, it offers unparalleled durability since it can bind to a large extent with fluorine, as achieved by reassessing and optimizing the reaction rate.

Along with improving the amount of fluorine and increasing durability, the Accelerator forms a special glass layer of a desired thickness. It smoothes the fine bumps on the glass surface, enabling dynamic water-repellent effects with an efficient falling angle, resulting in an unprecedented dispersion of water drops and excellent water-repellency.
