This alkoxysilane-based glass coating is designed specifically for aluminum wheels ― it is not simply a repurposed body coating. The special formula works well on both plating and sputtered coatings, making it effective for most aluminum wheels. It is very easy to apply, requiring only a sponge for application and a cloth for wiping off. The characteristically thick, strong and glossy film created by silane reduces adhesion of iron dust and other contaminants. Normally, curing the coating at room temperature is sufficient, but baking it on with infrared radiation after application will form a hard film more quickly.
