"AirFreed": the function that represents the Expads series. Three years after its release, the multiple effects of this manufacturing method continue to fascinate many auto detailers. The advantages of AirFreed can be further experienced by using it compared to a normal wool pad. The layer of air that floats between the worsted yarns enables light and smooth polishing without changing the texture of the yarns.

"Expads" series that creates innovative solutions
In recent years, LTP* has become mainstream in polishing work for automobile paint. In order to fully demonstrate the ability of LTP, we felt that the conventional buffing pads distributed in the market weren’t really satisfactory. To improve this situation, we started developing buffing pads that maximize the performance of LTP in early 2018. Since then, we repeated trial and error without compromise and finally succeeded to create "MOLT" as a new form of polishing.
Filled with innovative technology never seen before and optimized for LTP, this buffing pad series has an effect that overturns common sense and makes you feel the difference. In addition, "Casper", which incorporates this function and is optimized for a rotary polisher, also achieves another level of polishing. HAYABUSA will continue to enhance the "Expads" series and create innovative and optimal solutions.
*LTP = Long Throw Polisher (a.k.a. random orbital polisher)
Introduction of Functions
This is a method specially designed for manufacturing this world first faux fur like polishing pads with a two-layered special treatment around each worsted yarn*.
It creates more air space between worsted yarns and reduces heat and polishing compounds adhering to the pad surface while keeping the texture of the faux fur. It is extremely durable and easy to maintain.
NOTE: Worsted yarn is a yarn made by combing long wool fibers, removing short fibers and spinning them together.
- 01Achieving a light and pleasant polishing performance and a fine and delicate finish.
- By spreading the compound evenly, you can bring out its performance and polish as you imagined.
- 02Dramatically reduces abrasives sticking around worsted yarn, which is a weak point of long-haired wool pads.
- Polishing that takes advantage of the long fibers is sustainable.
- 03Easy care
- The compound does not stick and can be sufficiently cleaned even with an air blower.
- 04 Easy to use
- It is economical because it can be used for a long time with less fiber loss.

Patented: Patent No. 6883137
FreedHole buffers and disperses a stress which is applied by an LTP and concentrated at the pad center, and thus enables a uniform and smooth polishing work by delivering the LTP torque fully to the pad. It is also highly effective to prevent various troubles, such as tangled worsted yarns, initial loss of fibers, and burn on the Velcro part.
Physical proof of FreedHole effect
The frictional heat dispersal of the FreedHole was compared to that of a common straight hole pad of the same size. Looking at the pressure distribution map and center pressure value data shows that the pressure applied by A and B from the center to the outer edge is entirely different.
Functional Dual Layer Structure
The two-layered structure made by the Japanese adhesion method efficiently restrains multidirectional movements of an LTP* and reduces friction inside the pad. This improves durability by reducing unnecessary heat and prevents deterioration of the material.
Tapered Balance
We found the best balance of tapered angle from the theoretical point of view acquired by our longtime and repeated trials and optimized the pad for movements of LTPs*.
Vibration Reduction Structure
By integrating both soft and hard urethane materials with an appropriate thickness for each, it minimizes excess vibration to be transmitted from the polishing surface and enables smooth and comfortable polishing.
Chamfered Edge
Due to the chamfered edge, it keeps the orbit smooth and stable to the LTPs* movements and enables strong and reliable polishing to the panel edges.
