Inheriting technology, preserving tradition,
and always being “innovative”.
That is the “core” of HAYABUSA.
We harmonize tradition and innovation
and appreciate the future one step ahead.
We will keep developing the HAYABUSA brand based on this belief.

History
バフの歴史
Face the history, create the future.
The 1990s - "Evolution of paints and polishes"
The 2010s - "Trends of polishers"
"What should be a new buffing pad that is different from the existing pads?" This question suddenly popped into our head during the development of MOLT. It was when the HAYABUSA brand was born. It didn't take long to find the answer, and we integrated buffing pads into one brand with an eye to the future.
Selection point
バフ選定ポイント
It shows the cutting power (left) and finishing power (right) of a pad. The longer color bar indicates either the higher cutting power or the finer finish.
NOTE: It depends on the combination of polishing compounds used together.
Long Throw Action(Random Orbital Action)
Rotary Action
Correlation between the backing pad's and buffing pad's diameter.
In recent years, LTP* has become the mainstream polishing tool used in the car detailing market and the auto body work & paint.
With this trend, buffing pads are mainly used with three backing pads' diameters: 150mm, 125mm, and 75mm.
You can use your backing pad to choose the best buffing pad size by matching the pad diameters in blue in the sizing chart.
*LTP = Long Throw Polisher (a.k.a. random orbital polisher)
There are mainly four types of machine used in the polishing process of automobile paint: "rotary action polishers", "LTP* (random orbital polishers)", "gear-driven action polishers", and "triple action polishers". Each of these has different characteristics.
Rotary Action
A standard type used in polishing work. Due to its strong torque and high polishing power, it easily generates swirling marks and frictional heat. If you get used to handling it, it will become a tool with less vibration level than other types and excellent polishing efficiency.
Long Throw Action (Random Orbital Action)
LTP* is a type that is becoming mainstream in recent years. The backing pad moves according to a relatively large eccentric width (orbit), and the central axis on the polisher body side moves freely and does not rotate forcibly. It always rotates freely at different speeds due to the balance between the centrifugal force generated by eccentricity and the frictional force on the target surface.
Gear-driven Action
A type that adds irregular motion to rotation. The backing pad moves according to the orbit (eccentric width), and at the same time, the central axis on the polisher body side is forcibly rotated by the action of the gear. When the gear operates, the torque becomes stronger than LTP*, and the vibration also increases accordingly.*LTP = Long Throw Polisher (a.k.a. random orbital polisher)
Triple Action
A type with the new mechanism which greatly improved functionality. The power of the motor is reflected in the torque without waste. Similar to the movement of LTP*, the backing pad rotates freely around the central axis of the main body according to the orbit (eccentric width). At the same time, the epicyclic gear reducer properly controls rotations and significantly improves torque, achieving more efficient polishing.
